Well, well, well, how a day changes everything. A few more pictures, this time of the gorgeous yellow and black model brings alot more people into the fold of the F800GS. Now it's F800Riders.org's time to pitch in a little to the developing F800 story. Here is what we found out today from the great state of California:
There will be two models for absolute sure - one called the F800GS and a second called the F650GS. (yeah, really) The F650 will absolutely have the same (although potentially detuned) 800cc engine as the F800GS. (we'll be calling the new F650 as the F658 from here on out) Both the F800GS and the F658 are almost certainly going to be imported into the US as 2008 models.
The F800GS is weight rated at the exact same spec as the F800ST. The F658 is rated for the same weight as the F800S.
See for your self:

Oh, and the F800S is on there for 2008 as well. That should stop that rumor... :D

Thanks JT for the tip!

Hi Rob

Us short people would like to know if there is any information available about the seat height of either machine? I was about to order a factory lowered F650GS for my wife, I think that I'll hold off for a while and see what develops.

keep up the good work

Paul

Hi Paul,

Looks to be there are going to be two seats for this machine. The standard seat is about 35" or 880-890mm and the low seat is 32.5" or about 820 to 825mm.

The GS engine is significantly different from the ST/S engine.

It seems that the whole is smaller and more compact, oil filter has moved, oil pan is much thinner, transmission housing is smaller, exhaust headers are smaller diameter. It almost looks like the cylinders are more upright. Frame is tubular and totally different design.

Any thoughts?
