Linkey-Poo (http://www.adventuremotorcyclerental.com/yahoo_site_admin/assets/docs/GS800.311170102.pdf) (WARNING! - PDF Link) (WARNING! - R1200GS Info too!)

Word that we have been fed is that the 'official' launch of the F800GS is going to be on March 8th, during a all-dealership simultaneous open house deal where they will be giving away a bike at each store.

More info to follow...

Nice, would it be possible to have some EU info also?

This IS the only F800 site, ain't it?

Thanks! [ears]

If I had access to the EU information, I would post it. And it's really not 'EU' information for the most part - every country in Europe seems to do BM a little differently - so it would be UK, German, French, Spanish, etc. informtion.

That said, I'd welcome anyone with such information to post it, or send it to me so I can post it, including yourself.

Hey Rob, how do I get in on the free bike thing? I don't think we'll be having that down here.

We're pegged for a June release at a guess at present. How did you shuffle your way up the delivery cue?

I think for all the pain we went through on being the test bed for the F800 we should get the GS first. We not first but after those that got the F800 before us.

Regardless it's going to be great seeing this bike and hopefylly owning one.

To get in on the free bike thing, I'd start with moving the to US. :D I'd doubt that BMW NZ are going to do the same thing.

How did I personally, or the US? The US is one of the largest markets in the world and the not defunct F650GS was flying off of the shelves with the updated R1200GS. BMW NA probably lobbied heavily to get it here sooner rather than later.

This might help. Look for the next layer link to the F800GS

Thanks for all this info, I’ve been quite surprised at how little information was available from BMW dealerships here in the UK. So much so that after paying a deposit at the start of last week I've gone through various different emotional states with regard to this bike, ranging from the feeling that I've been completely foolish paying a non-refundable deposit for a bike that I and the dealer knew very little about through to feelings of complete elation after reading this latest info.

I'm so excited right now that I don't think I'll be able contain myself for another 117 days.

Ben.

So the launch date for the UK is 8th March which just happens to be my birthday (and it's a Saturday!)

I guess some things were just meant to be:D
