I have noticed that my windsheild has lots of tiny scratches, ulmost like the sponge used to clean it had grit in it.

Is there anyway to get these scratches out

I never look through the windscreen so don't worry about them.
It will soon be frosted so will look cool and won't show the muck on the inside of the screen that's very hard to get out!

Why would I spray it black?

You are a strange and disturbing person. Bet you hate Christmas!

Sorry mate, the new F800riders.org Political Correctness charter, Item 7, para 5b, strictly prohibits the use of the word Christmas.

Please refer to the aforementioned word as December 25Th.

Thanks

Mine scratched the first week I had it. I washed it with warm water and a soft cotton cloth. I polished it with Aircraft Plastic window polish, and it is now full of swirls.
It seems it's only purpose if to direct the wind flow to my chest and shoulders....nice in the Summer, not so nice this time of year.

Funny. I never had that problem with my 650st. I did scratch the Parabellum windscreen though when I ran into a pine tree ;)

the easiest solution in this case, would be to go and buy another one.

I used 3M plastic cleaner on my various windshields, on various bikes, for years. Then I read recently that most plastic cleaners have an abrasive ingredient which results in tiny little scratches, which my experience has shown me is true. So I avoid that stuff anymore. I think windscreens and helmet visors will scratch no matter what, but most plastic cleaners probably hasten the process. Instead of spending money on chemicals, I save money for new visors and windscreens.

Meguiars makes a plastic polish called PlastX, might want to give that a whirl. Make sure your cloth is ultra clean as well as the screen before you have at it.

Occam's Razor?? only problem with that is that it's too goddam sharp....

You guys (except Dunny who is Cardasian) are real heavy duty bikers arn't you. Is there nothing that stumps you.

I bet if I asked for a remedy for my Grans Lumbaygo, you guys would know exactly what to do.

Yes indeed. Tell her she needs to have more sex.

Are you sure she really has Lumbaygo and just isn't used to the way her body works?
Unless she can demonstrate repeatedly her symptoms and ideally on somebody else as well I'm not sure I believe she has it.
She maybe just being emotional and over imagining it. Thus undermining the reputation of human bodies.

Dunny's solution is based upon a number of unproven assumptions and although fun may not be helpful.

I'll see if there's a nice equation that may help explain what's happening for her.

I would like you all to know I have mentioned your comments to my Gran who was delighted to recieve them. I don't actually think Dinnys suggestion was a goer at this time. She asked me to thank you all personally and recorded all your IP Addresses and PIN numbers. Expect a large man with FBI on his jacket to knock on your door in the next 20 minutes. God Bless You all.

He was asking questions about you.
God bless you too.

Novus Clean & Shine will remove the scratches -- and perhaps black paint as well.

Nothing will remove Dunny.
