Are any of you guys on the fuel protest tomorrow towards Manchester city centre?

Guys not from the UK will think what all the fuss is about!
Then again... why bikers are the group to really take up the flag in protest at huge and fast increasing petrol prices is beyond me. The F800ST does 65mg doesn't it!!!!
Looks like we have to do the dirty work for the other motorists.
Do you think this is the beginning of true biker power? [8D]

Let me know what you think.

Cheers

Unfortunately I'm one of those that think fuels too cheap and we squander and use a vanishing resource with little care or concern for the need or most efficient method of transport. So no I won't be there. But I'm sure plenty will.

I imagine a rally to help drive up the price of fuel is unlikely to get a good reception :(

The F800 economy is great but actually there are cars that can match that and carry 4 people with their luggage! OK not as quickly or with such a grin factor but 60-70MPG on a bike can be bettered I'm sure.

Just a gentle ride on a sunny morning

Now those middle lane hoggers know what it feels like.

Totally agree with this!

"Gary Hutchinson, 47, a technical support worker from Gorton said: "I totally back them. I wish I had taken the day of so I could be down with them."

"Fuel duty in this country is outrageous; the government are making a killing on the back of the motorists. I hope that people continue to protest like this and that the government start listening to us."

I'd be less worried about the Governments gains through duty. At least that goes into the public spending pot thereby reducing the need to tax elsewhere or increasing the spending elsewhere.

I'd be more concerned with the massive profits of the multinationals that claim they have no choice but to put up prices and make massive profits. That money sits in nice big offshore accounts and does little good to anyone else!
