Greetings from a new member, and hopefully eventually, a new F800s owner! I have previously owned a number of bikes (having lived in London and knowing that two wheels are the only way to get around congested cities), including a BMW 1000cc 20 years ago, and have decided to return to the fold!
Been living in Sheffield now for a number of years, and although I do own a BMW, it is of the 4 wheeled variety, and am sorely tempted to increased the number of wheels by two.
My nearest Motorrad dealer is Rainbow in Rotherham, and I would be very grateful for comments if anyone has had dealings with them.
Looking forward to any replies.
Really enjoying reading the posts so far!

Welcome to the forum.
I'd get a test drive as soon as you can. You'll get off smiling (most likely) or not. Then you'll know.

Yup I'd go for the yellow S.
Assuming they don't have a Red S available

Thanks Pat for your welcome!
I certainly intend to take a test ride, but it will be an interesting experience after so long out of the saddle! I've ridden a few times since I last owned in London (a GT550 - I continued to appreciate the benefits of a shaft drive after my BM!), but don't want to appear a wally at the dealer:D

Thanks for your welcome! Whereabouts in the Netherlands are you?
I was leaning more towards the red, but understand that there is now a metallic grey F800S?

I live in a part of the Netherlands called 'de Achterhoek', abouth 40 km's from Arnhem and close to the German border (the town is called Zelhem). Very nice and rural, I really dislike living in a city.
Just kidding on the colour. I like all F800's [clap] The Lahar Grey should be coming in 2007 but my dealer does not know when it is going to be available. Like the mods.... and the GS.......and the R [^]

Thanks for the info on your location :D
I have colleagues/friends in Leiden and occasionally attend meetings there and in Amsterdam. Travel is one of the enjoyable parts of my work [^]
Not sure about the Lahar Grey as it could be a bit sombre [sure] Neeed to check it out [8D]
