Hi. My first error - I just posted this to the Technical forum in error!![xx(] anyway....

I'm new to this forum and am seriously considering a move to an 800. I am currently riding an R1150R and am just a bit worried about whether I will miss the size. I generally ride solo and enjoy touring. Anyone out there move from an 1100 or 1150 to the 800? And if so, what were your feelings?

Hi Croc,
My last bike before the F800 was an R1100S. Of course you will notice the lack of grunt but you will also notice the lack of bulk and weight and the better economy.
I'm delighted with my new bike as I didn't want the size of the 1100/1200 models but I didn't want to go down to a 650 single either.
I'd suggest a test ride to make your mind up but for the riding you mentioned the F800 should be more than adequate.

Yes get a test ride and then you'll at least know if it's the bike for you.

If fuel ecconomy is a key thing the F800 is a serious consideration.
If fuel usage isn't an issue (your rich, fuel is very cheap, You don't care too much about the environment)then I'd think carefully about the F800 as a tourer. It's a great bike. But if I wanted a tourer I wouldn't choose an F800 as my first choice.
But try it and see for yourself.
