Just did this on Sunday, going via Lytton and the Fraser Canyon. Lilloet to Pemberton was extremely bumpy compared to previous year's rides and caution should be observed as many of the really big ones are in the middle of corners.
Tar snakes, on the contrary are not as bad as they have been in the past. Whistler down to Vancouver is a PITA as it's mosly single lane due to major construction. Not really worth it at the moment.
First time I've done it on the 800s which handled admirably and got great gas mileage despite a fairly heavy throttle hand.

Thanks for the post. I was thinking about doing this loop later this summer. But, will wait for another year given your comments. I liked the loop just north of there that I did mid-June: Cache Creek north, then west through Hat Creek, Pavillion, Lilloet, then to Lytton and up to Spences Bridge. I'd do that loop again; the roads are great except one spot just north of Lilloet where the road has slid a bit.
Did you start in Vancouver and come all the way up through the Fraser Canyon? If so, how is the canyon between Lytton and Hope? It's been many years since I've driven this stretch.
I'm also thinking about doing the Hope-Princeton route. Have you done this road recently in either car or bike?

Agree that the Cache Creek loop is a great ride...
At the moment, the Fraser Canyon is fine....good surfaces etc., but quite heavily policed, especially around Boston Bar.
I do the Hope -Princeton regularly by bike and it's very good at the moment at far as road surfaces go.
Watch out for radar close to Manning Park Lodge as well as the west side of Princeton, where mule deer are also very prevalent around early morning and dusk.
Enjoy the ride!

I spent 13 hours on highway 99, the sea to sky highway, in December. Thats how long it took us to get from Vancouver to Whistler due to the snow and other people getting stuck in it, I still have nightmares about it.
Still, it should be good when its a dual carriageway and Whistler was "the dogs boll*@ks" when we eventually got there. [clap]
