With an average of 14 posts a day I expect within 4 months he will pass Pat [bow][bow]
Maybe we should have a sweepstake :D

Somebody has to be the top poster and like all winning streaks mine has to end one day :D
I've been very busy with Scouts and work the last few months so my contributions have been less than normal.
However I'll have more time soon so it's not a one horse race yet.[eb]

hey, hey B...
simmer down now... i have a method to my madness... well, not really. business has been slow for a long while but is picking up really hard right now and so i'm not going to be able to post quite as much - i love what i do even more than posting in this forum you see... (sorry to hurt any feelings)
it's sad too because i knew i could overtake Rob's numerous posts and that my absolutely correct anti-honda logic and power as the Duck Whisperer would lead me to helping the rest of you see the light... but after others started mentioning how awesome my posts are, especially Rob, i realized that taking over a forum is not the only thing i need to do... the world must be purified you see...
i think that i might need to be careful though since i have been told i am the mutilator of posts. i may face the internet gallows:

well ataman, i agree. i don't think anyone should be allowed to degrade the product we own and constantly complain about reparable or ridiculous parts of the bike while making erroneous comparisons with their honda. it's really annoying.
by the way, did you ever get rid of your bike and trade it for the FZ6 that you liked so much? or have you found Canada's lemon laws yet?

Nah, I don't buy that.
I think that Pat is up to something... Just before the1sen is about to take over the F800.org high score, Pat will come up with a Auto-Posting software tool that auto generates ludicrous text containing random F800 topics.:D[lol]

If it is annoying - don't read this Forum, just ride the best bike ever built.
I for one cancelled my subscriptions because of one guy's replies on every subject every time stuffing my mailbox, and using a "stinking" avatar. Grow up. Less is more.
BMW doesn't need your help, it will defend itself. It has done it for so many years.
For quite a while there Herrdirektor was #1, before that I was #1.

hey ataman,
not everyone is so difficult to please.
in your infinite "grown up" wisdom, maybe you can see the wisdom in my words when i say that adding more negativity to an already negative situation does nothing constructive, nothing positive.
i am not so much a BMW advocate as much as i am an advocate of enjoying what one [u]has</u> in this life! if you can't embrace that or appreciate that, i don't know what to say. clinging to the past and how one thinks things should be done will only set a person up for failure and disappointment and lead to suffering.
since you have obviously taken everything i have said so personally, since you have canceled your membership on my behalf, and since you don't like anything i have to say down to my avatar - may i extend my sincerest apology to you and to the rest of those in the forum whom i have so offended.
i for one am not a man who wants to perpetuate bad feelings or even incur them from the start. my interest here is to gain a little knowledge, pass a little on, inject a little humor, and enjoy the ride to the end.
take care.

Couldn't disagree more. This forum is much better off with guys like the1sen around ripping off posts. He may post more than anyone else but it is mostly insightful but very entertaining. What a ridiculous idea.

i just e-mailed you... but i don't mind saying the same thing here.
i could care LESS about how many posts i have. really.
if my posting has caused you or this "organization" to lose potency, if i have not contributed in ANY facet to this group in a positive manner, then i will remove myself from this situation, as things seemed to be just fine before i showed up.

That's a shame ShinyBlueST but it's your call.
I must confess I try and post to topics I think I can contribute to or I think some humour is in order. But what one person finds funny is too much for some and too little for others (the same applies to so many things in life as my wife tells me)
However even me and my silly moments do find some of the way off stuff just not for me. However I just skim over them. It's the nature of forums.

PatHonda, you post in every topic and mention your Honda in every topic you post in
in any case... since honda seems to be mentioned here with religious reverence and having anything working remotely proper on the BMW is taken as an impossibility, i, again, am at a loss for words. i will refrain from mentioning my opinion of honda as this seems to be heretic.
indeed, what one finds humorous is not humorous to all - and agreed that i will not be humorous or add any humorous "fluff" or any other "fluff" for that matter.
as i like my bike, i'm going to continue enjoying my experience.

Hey, we need to lighten up and be friends on here... I have valued *many* interesting posts from all involved. Sarcasm and humour are very difficult to convey as intended in this medium, especially if many of the participants are from very different backgrounds. But I have read some great humour, while appreciating the opportunity to learn and share some fairly good technical information. My opinion: in general, posters should think carefully about what they post, but they shouldn't have to walk on eggshells either; similarly, readers of posts should lighten up and endure the occasional noise. It's a community, and so by definition compromise (with occasional policing from Rob) is what makes it all kind of work. Thanks for all the laughs! Cheers, Andreas

hey, you know what warby, i am with you in that i think people should take what positive attributes they can from ANY life experience and try to embrace what is here in the now.
unfortunately, i am not a man who will be beaten into submission or talked into believing something that is simply not true or that i don't agree with
i'll agree to disagree with PatHonda and move on. i know who i am, i know who he is, and i am grateful for being able to discern the difference between them.

wow! what happened here, we change war of the ducks for war of the posts? I feel like I'm ok with all bikes, japs, Germans, English, Italian, even Chinese or Korean, they are just bikes, and happy the ones who rides them. And if someone is posting too much, or too little, what's the big deal? I'm relatively new to this forum and like it since first day. And if someone says japs'r craps, up to him, I know what I stand for, the same if someone says BMW sucks, we are all different, so is what we think, and what we write. Is up to oneself get mad or happy after reading something, and if one is too sensitive, well, maybe this isn't the right place to be, we are a lot of people from different countries/cultures, and let's be real, we humans do not even agree in all even with our closest friends, or wife!
Just take this forum as what it is: A FORUM!

Actually, the way I read it, that's not what you were trying to say to Ataman earlier in the thread and nothing like it. It seemed like you were bagging him and having a go at him. Was this because you didn't like his post? I think if we start attacking people when they disagree with us it lowers the tone. You may have been trying to say it in your mind but when you say things like...
well ataman, i agree. i don't think anyone should be allowed to degrade the product we own and constantly complain about reparable or ridiculous parts of the bike while making erroneous comparisons with their honda. it's really annoying.
by the way, did you ever get rid of your bike and trade it for the FZ6 that you liked so much? or have you found Canada's lemon laws yet?
Clearly you didn't agree but had a go at him. "In all seriousness" there was no trying to explain anything but more a trying to wind him up and have a go is how I read it. Now that it appears you've had a go and taken pot shots at a few posters because you disagreed with them and rather than discuss it you spat the dummy etc you then use the put the hands in the air, hey I'm the innocent guy trying to help type lines.
that is what i was trying to say .... ...oh well, we move on. hopefully ShineyBlueST will come back to us.
Is that like a kind of "now that I've stirred the pot I'll just pop up on the pedestal, point out that the mud slinging is beneath me thing?"
________________________________________________
I think your statement that you will de-fluff your posts was an interesting and positive comment. Of course to completely de-fluff is the other extreme. Reminds me of my kids when they can't get their way. They spit the dummy and go the other extreme.
__________________________________________
As I understand it we all like a little fluff some times. [:P]
__________________________________________
It would be great to have a discussion and when there is an opposing view to then just discuss it. Snide comments, dragging up the past, dragging in other posts etc lowers the tone.
Hopefully this little post by Barance has had that clearing the air effect. Similar to the clearing the air that families or work colleagues have from time to time and the forum will be better for it.
Do I think the1sen will catch up to Pat's posts?
I have no idea, but it seemed to me the subject strayed a little so I answered the stray instead.
The1sen, I love your photo's and the fluff you refer to is sometimes well beyond me so I tend to skip those bits. I decided to comment in this way because it appears your last statement seems to indicate you are unaware that what you post reads differently to what you think, to me, and I thought you may be interested in hearing how I read it.
I appreciate that we'll all read it in different ways.

howdy mystic.
well, i am glad that this is all aired out as well.
i do not agree with him mystic - at all. and i did have a go at him - especially after he posted:
Let's just hope that the quality of posts on this Forum will be on par with quantity."
at that point, all bets were off as he decided to become a perpetrator and i refused to be his victim or become a perpetrator myself. instead i mentioned all the wonderful negativity he's brought to bear because he did as i too tire of his consistent negativity - and a few others. i wrote them with a double meaning implied and with razor sharp accuracy not to "have a go" but to bring to light the truth of what was said.
unfortunately, i am unwilling to let people slide when their negativity and reckless tongue let slip utterances of disgust.
i do not believe that this forum is about honda, and i do not agree that it is about taking pot shots at people, and i do not believe it is about agreeing either. above all, i don't believe it is about forcing someone to believe what you say is the ONLY way, as some would have you believe.
no, the slinging is not beneath me, it is behind me. i choose not to carry this into my future. i apologized to him, it was sincere, if he chooses not to accept, it is on him, not me. the ball is in his court.
de-fluffing of posts is a necessity: [u]clearly</u> mystic - do you not see that? it's not anything to do with immaturity or child like behavior. it has everything to do with NOT wanting to perpetuate bad feelings and remain part of the forum at the same time. if you can't see that, i don't know what to say.
indeed, i am glad to know how you read it. i too wish that we could have a discussion based on honor, integrity, and truth. i don't know that everyone is able to accept the truth about them self though.
