Does anyone know if the manual is online??? I am keeping mine under the seat, and everytime I think of something I do not know, it would be so convienent to just look it up online, but I could not find it.....

I kept my manual under the seat till I rode through the rain one time. The cheesy little plastic cover did not do it's job of protecting the manual. I now have a wilted manual with most of the pages stuck together......... If I were you I'd keep the manual in the house for reference and to keep it dry.Originally posted by Luvstowin

The idea of an online manual has been mentioned and it's a great idea, but I understand it's currently not available online. Riders have made a good point that it would be handy to check the manual on long road trips from their hotel room and not having the added burden of trying to keep their manual dry and having yet another piece of gear to tow. But, actually, I have a heavy duty plastic bag that contains both the manual and it's plastic cover from BMW. Roadpizza's experience isn't the only one. Water can still get into the provided plastic case and I have to replace my bag periodically, but BMW has done a better job than many. At least they provided a plastic casing. A few riders have mentioned scanning the manual and posting it to a website Hmmm.. hey Rob, if you're listening out there, could we break the task up bwtween several forum members and have the pages submitted to a "special location" here in the forum. Wouldn't that be cool! :D I'm in for 10 pages. Just an idea and I wonder if BMW would get upset over not being able to sell replacements (surely not). Be great if BMW would put their manuals online. I could be wrong but I haven't seen one yet.

Luvstowin,

There is no available manual online as of now.

Maverik88,

We can't host BMW copywrited material here. I would however like to get most of that information into the Hall of Wisdom somehow. Eventually the goal is to create our *own* manual or instructional DVD. That, I think, is a bit off though...

Very Good! This link should be a "sticky" until a more comprehensive one comes along.

I don't think the owners manual is worth a damn anyway. Unless your stuck in the snow and need to build a fire :D This is my biggest gripe about BMW is that there is no shop manual available except for a $100 CD that you can't get anyway. Nor do I really wish to pay for (think it should be given free when you mortgage the house to buy the bike) I have e-mailed several motorcycle shop manual producers and have never had a reply. Guess we are on our own guys and gals.
