Posted here as the HOW entry has a problem with the images. Having suffered the sudden unexpected failure of the BMW stock battery on my 2006 F800S, leaving me stranded. I was saved by the loan of a much lower capacity BS-7AH battery. This battery is half the capacity of the stock battery but it started and ran my bike for 3 days without any issue. Clearly with it's lower capacity, leaving the bike unused will drain it quicker, but it's worth knowing a smaller capacity battery would serve...

Canisterectomy - Pic's I have about 575 miles on my 09 F800 GS now and today for the first time it started cutting out like it would run out of gas and then soon it would start back up and run again, never actually quite but I thought it might....filled it up when I got home and it took 2.8 gal so I know I had plenty of gas and my gage said approx 1/2 full, computer said another 90 miles. Checked battery voltage too and had 13.8 volts so not a battery problem. After reading Richards...

RESOLVED - Muffler Mount - Loose or by Design? I have found that if you can wiggle the muffler side to side slightly, appearing as if the single bolt mount is loose, the muffler is not installed appropriately on your F800/650GS. Thanks to ToadRide's mentioning what he found on his bike and following his instructions, my "loose" muffler is no longer loose. Per his suggestion, I loosened the bolts on the muffler "strap" (two) and tried to push the muffler on tighter. That didn't work so I took...
