| Well, had been looking for a bike for about a year without much success. Test road a bunch of Triumphs but they didn't really put a smile on my face. Almost bought a Ducati - but in the end passed on that too. The Monster line was definitely dressed for the occasion, but it just quite didn't get out-of-the-way between you and the road in all the right ways. Finally test road a R1200R and an F800 as neither were on the original short list (too many years on a smooth triple). Both were good. But in the end, the F800 was just more fun. It was like the k75s but lighter and with the low end torque and balance that I was looking for. The F800 seemed to get out of the way in all the right ways but was yet present when it was needed (the breaking was impressive but the balance was excellent - it had that glide). I surf and was looking for that glide while on the road. The F800ST has it, |
