That's just mean.
Yeah but...in 6 months we'll be reading about those horrendous fires racing across the country side and it will be all green and bug infested at your house.
It's all relative....
We are a little cloudy, 63F on the way to 65F.
It's F'in snowing!
so what's the big deal?![]()

we have cold and rain but I am still riding! My goal is to make December a success with riding every work do at least! I have Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat to go!![]()
59F today, after 65F high, same tomorrow. But Wednesday, big statewide storm will have us in the low to mid-fifties daytime, and below freezing at nighttime.
Just returned from a 'vacation' (in the cage) to a 25/25 night - that's 25F with 25kt winds.
Enroute back I saw a Volvo station wagon that had sustained an engine fire - whole front end was 'cooked' - wrecker was just departing as I passed in the slow traffic - as I got back up to speed the first car to pass me (like a maniac due to having been inconvenienced no doubt) was - YEP - another Volvo SW!
BTW for our Brit friends, I was informed by a reliable source that a gentleman there was commenting about his wife just staring thru the window at the snow for the past 3 days - he figures if it continues he will probably have to let her back inside......![]()
We've seen our first rays of sunshine for over a week ( still with a few showers though). At least where we live is on a hill, so we're not getting flooded like 60% of QLD is.

Hmmmm ... Australia sure is a very BIG country.
As Steve has pointed out 60% of QLD is under waterwhilst down south in Victoria we are expecting a top temperature of 40 degrees celsius (104F) on New Year's Eve with strong, hot winds to boot

Snow has been on the ground for something like two weeks now, and today, we are supposed to finally have a high temp above freezing. Yay!!!
Of course, turns out we will have freezing rain in the process of getting there....
Very thick fog today. First ride out since the snow melted and not much fun, but needed to go out and pick up my new leathers from the Hein Gericke shop.

Two days ago - 19*F and partly cloudy. Today - 63*F, partly cloudy and 27MPH winds. Bike is going to get it's exercise...
Those are not negatives in front of the numbers...
Well, for the past 2 days we've had a big yellow ball of burning hydrogen in the sky, I can't remember it's name, it's been that long since we've seen it. Back to showers tomorrow.
For you European people, in QLD alone, an area the size of France and Germany combined is under flood water at the moment.

I've been affected badly. I've had to stay indoors and reno the bathroom.
We're actually high and dry where we live.SE QLD isn't too bad, we've just had a bit of localised minor flooding. Up north has had most of it.
I don't care what the weather is tomorrow, I've teed up with a mate to go for a ride, come rain, hail or shine (it could be all three knowing this weather of late)

Well, it's still bloody raining. We've had 2" each day for the past 2 days and about another 3" so far today.
The local creek is starting to think that it's tidal. We're heading for a bit of minor flooding here, but my old home town of Maryborough, where I spent my first 25 yrs, and Gympie, where I spent the next 20, are in for some moderate to major flooding, the way this rain is going. Areas between Gympie and Maryborough copped 12" of rain day before yesterday and a few more inches since.
Be nice to get a week of sunshine (when was the last time we saw that???? about 6mths ago) and get a bit of riding in.
Mind you, Rose has let me get a new pair of riding boots, as my old ones are leaking and she's sick of them sitting around, trying to dry out. I've ordered a pair of Rossi Visions, http://www.rossiboots.com.au/catalog...asp?prodID=110
No nothing to do with Valentino, these are by Rossiters in Sth Aus, who have been making boots nearly longer than there's been motorcycles.

I'm just down the road from steve n rose, in Brisbane - went for a run this morning, got caught out in the rain, so took my shirt off to stop it getting too wet - although it's rainy, at least it's not cold.

Roadpizza liked this post.
In the 2 hrs after my last post the gauge jumped from 74mm to 144mm(at which I emptied it as it only goes to 150mm)
I checked the gauge this morning, all up, in the last 22hrs we've had 213mm (about 8.5").

what the heck is going on down there? supposed to be your hot dry summer....on TV it looks so bad there and I dure hope mother nature gives you all a break soon and your gov't gets you some $$ relief. I saw one fund raiser going on in your country and they raise about 10 million to assist those in need. I think all countries should pitch in!
Hot and dry over here. Thanks Steve and Rose for keeping the rain on your side of the Tasman.
I've just spent 10 days in a field with 5,000 other scouts, never saw a drop of rain, ~30C every day. It was bloody hot but very rewarding spending time volunteering over the Summer break.

Yeah, she's getting bad here. I might even have to think about going home from work as the local creek's climbing again.
We've had another 98mm in the past 4hrs and the water's into the supermarket carparks and lapping the decks on some of the bridges.

Roadpizza thanked for this post.
The sun is shining in Brisbane now.
I made a misguided attempt to head in to work this morning on the pushbike - found the cycle path alongside the Brisbane River is about 2 metres under water and the ferry jetties are floating at road height. I portaged the bike through a couple of streets (up to knee deep), but when I got to the next main road and could only see the tops of the bus shelters decided that work wasn't going to happen today.
Normally this jetty is 2-3 metres below:
Bad photo (sorry, taken with my phone), but in there somewhere is the top of a bus shelter:
