    Hey guys,

I've been looking for a tank bag that will hold my baseball cap and small items when I'm riding... I really liked the look of the Motech bags but according to revzilla and other sites they did not have any compatible adapter rings for my 2016 F800R.... I even spoke to a revzilla rep about it. However looking on a German site it showed that they did have a compatible adapter and I just matched the product number to the one on rev. Bit the bullet and decided to try it......WELL FOLKS!!! ... it fits..its a perfect match.... and the bag looks awesome...install was pretty straight forward, had to find the cord to my power drill but other then that it came with the bit and tools necessary.... I've included some pics..so if any of you out there want to go the motech route ,,it is a go!..................

P.S....i also got the LED indicators from BMW and had them installed as well... cheers!

Nice tank bag and perfect fit. That's the latest Engage bag? Your using the X-shaped adapter bracket, yes? Four mount screws i existing center panel positions?

    http://www.twistedthrottle.com/sw-mo...ottom-tankring

I've got that bracket and old style Quick-Lock horseshoe attachment on my F800S. Same Quick-Lock attachment for other bikes too, so moving the tank bag is a 5-second job. Big fan of SW Motech. My old SW Motech / Bag Connection "Trip" bag has seen lots of weather but still working great.

    hey Mark, thanks bro....

    I think thats the one

    http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/s...-bmw-f800rgtst

yea i love how easy it is to remove... sometimes when i leave my bike at work or at the gym, or maybe even the grocery store...I think to myself....if i leave it on the bike...will anyone take it?????
it is like a 200 dollar bag! Do you personally remove the bag when you get off the bike and run errands or do you trust people are good and leave the bag on the bike???....I'm the same way with leaving my helmet hanging on my handle bars..... I would feel reeeeeeeeeeal stupid if I came out and someone took my helmet that I worked real hard to buy.

As for the tank bag, there's little you can do about it. If it's any consolation, I have had a tank bag on my bikes for the past 3 years and no one has touched it. However, I never leave anything in it that's valuable.

However...as for the helmet. If you leave it unlocked, expect to see it gone if it is of any quality at all. The half dome cruiser helmets are worth much in an accident, or to take, so they'll be there when they come back. But to leave a decent helmet on the handlebars unlocked, is asking for trouble.

I had a friend who went to a nearby casino. He did the "cool" thing and left an expensive helmet unlocked on the bike. After all, no one will take it...right? He came back to find a piece of junk helmet left in the place where his expensive helmet had been.

Ahh...I just looked at picture #5. Is it in a size Large? If you'll give me the address where you park at, I'll be sure to stop by.

Glad I could help. And I'm glad you found out this way, instead of the hard way.

Unfortunately, no I don't generally trust people to keep hands off. If it's a quick stop the tank bag stays on, but any longer stop - when I can't keep an eye on the bike - I take tank bag and helmet with me. Personal stuff is usually stashed in the tank bag instead of in my gear during road trips for on-bike comfort and convenience. I lock my helmet to the bike (Rockster and F800) sometimes when the weather is dry and area looks mellow. In sketchy areas take all the crap with me. The old (no longer available) Trip tank bag fits inside R1150** side case, which is why I originally chose that SW Motech version.

I won't even leave my helmet locked to the bike... a friend of mine locked his Bell Race Star Ace to his bike only to come out and discover some b@st@rd took a pi$$ in it.

My tank bag and helmet come with me. I do have a top case so I can lock the helmet in it if it is not full. It will hold the helmet and tank bag if empty.

I've been looking at these tank bags myself for my 2015 F800R. My bike is the same colour as yours and looking at the pics, the tank bag looks great. I can see a very nice Xmas present under the tree this year.

Does the mounting bracket come attached to the bag or do you have to use a template and drill your own holes to attach the bag bracket?

The way I understand it Ray is you remove the mounting bracket from the bag and use the bracket as a template.

I thought there was no need to drill because the mounting bracket holes match the centre panel's screw holes.
