Short video of our trip to the Arctic Circle on the Dempster before the storm hit. We were also fortunate to cross the Circle on the Dalton Highway as well.
She's Backaakk.....
Buddy of mine did the Inuvik thing in his motorhome a long time ago. Your video confirms his reports. 500 miles of pissy little trees, turn around, same trees on the way back.
See any bears and mooses and haul trucks?
Oh and welcome home!
Yo, Soph, Some kinda views. That's one big mound o' rock. Seems you guys did justice to the travel opportunity and saw it all. Well done!
always more to be seen but yeah I think we made the most of the trip...still would go back in a heart beat...just a wicked place to ride in more ways than one!
Not too sure about that but it's nice to dream. Next year I hope to do the Trans Taiga but I know it can't compare to what you 2 did.
It's nice to live vicariously through you guys however.

Any "plans" for next year?
well, you will have to make the trip before you die... One way or another....it is worth it....
we need to save for our big trip...one day either RTW or half the world... Next year we want to do something a little different and cheaper...the Washington and Oregon back Country route and if Utah is mapped maybe that too. Closer to home and we need to re-evaluate our housing situation. We have a 3200 sq ft house now. My partners cousin and boyfriend have been living with us and are moving out. BTW...not a bad idea for them to move on if you know what I mean. So, with the new change the question is do we down size now or in the 3 years we were initially planning on doing anyway. My plan was to live in this house for 10 years and then down size but Cheryl is craving a smaller house and one that might be easier to rent out if we were to go away for a year. I am the practical one and trying to just think this out a bit slower so not sure how it will play out.
we both have the adventure bug more than ever and coming back from this trip has been harder than ever.
3200 foots, Gad, that's twice what wife and I have and we have 2 rooms too many for our needs. Palatial has a certain appeal but the up keep!
Now if you need a really big garage for all the bikes you need I can understand.
Lovely video. Thank you so much for sharing. One question, how far were you averaging on a tank of gas with the Tigers? Thinking about the trip on a BMW F650GS or selling it for a Tiger 800XC.
Gas mileage was not great on the Tigers but hear its has gotten better since 2011. We average using mid 5L/100km. About high 30's to low 40 mpg. The Tigers will not compare to the 650's mpg.
