It is with much thanks I thank you for your kindnesses and support, though some support was of the rope kind, and that was even kind as well, for I now have some rope which I will indeed find a use for (some where).
Not wanting to hi-jack this post for it is the G&T post, I am set to the wondering that I usually am from time to time, that is to say, how many of you are indeed of the flookind. I would soon be of the knowing if you or indeed any one can reply using some degree of flookishness to describe your lovely new two wheeled vehicle, in such a way or custom that you may indeed have the need or even the requirement to do or indeed to try, that is what it is or may even be![]()

My good friend LOS, by jove you have a long memory do you not, indeed Mr Stanley Unwin, mulitudedness indeed he spoke as he did, yes, indeed he was the first among the Flooks he was. A copy of a copy can only come from the back of a cornflake pack (those of a certain age will know that). You have obviously hear of him have you not, either that, or your friend may have jogged you memory did it not. Flooks parentage is that now confined to history it is, indeed it has been linked as at has by some to a certain Vatican City, indeed it seems to be as such.

The Story of Flook - so far
Once upon a time, far, far away in the land of Flookistan a child was born, at an early age. The child’s family lived in the picturesque little Northamptonflookshire village of Much Flooking in the Marsh, so in honour of his birthplace they named him Flook.
Even in one so young, Flook had a distinctive appearance. You wouldn’t have exactly called him pretty, and you wouldn’t have called him ugly – he was just, well, pretty ugly. But things improved once doctors had removed the other head.
The young Flook wasn’t bright enough to make it to Grammar School, but his parents did manage to get him into Sunday school by bribing the Principal, and where he did quite well, majoring in the subjects that were to form the basis of his later career – mumbling, sucking his thumb, and picking wax out of his ears.
So nobody was at all surprised when he learned how to count backwards from five, and to be able to spell several words containing up to three letters – after all, he was by now only fifteen years old.
Saving money from his daily newspaper round, Flook was still only thirty when he acquired his first motorcycle, a blue ST (Slow Twin). Building his experience, he travelled the length and breadth of the drive of his parents’ home until he had racked-up no less than seven miles over the course of two years. Then he removed the trainer wheels and fell off at the first corner…
Undergoing therapy after this unfortunate incident, Flook discovered the computer keyboard, although at first he thought it was a harmonica and severely damaged his front teeth trying to coax a tune out of it.
But from this point it was all upward and onward! Flook gathered an army of fans all over the world, including in the land of Oz, which is fortunately a long way away from Flookistan, and furthermore where all the inhabitants walk around upside down. Many of his fans and admirers - except those from Oz - came to regard Flook’s distinctive writing style as being that of a latter-day Nostradamus.
Indeed, it has been said many times that if an infinite number of chimpanzees was placed in front of an infinite number of keyboards and allowed to peck away for an infinite number of years one of them would one day produce the complete works of Shakespeare, correct in every detail. I think, dear readers, you’ll agree that in his recent ramblings here Flook has conclusively disproven this theory.
There are those who believe that the blockbuster movie ‘Forrest Gump’ was based largely on Flook and his many and myriad monotonous mental and motorcycle meanderings. Others feel this to be a decided insult to Gump.
All I know is – he’s called ‘The Flook’.

And the adoring crowd gathered outside his window and received to his blessings. As he retired, they cried out in adoration "Flook - Flook - Flook - Flook"![]()

You still cannot read!
You are repetitious consistently. The F800GT is prettier than the ST.
When have I stated that comment
Having now re read yur comment, what you are actualy saying is, I have said the ST looks better than the GT? Hmmm, where have I said that, hmmm, interesting comment you actually make, the comment has a twist that makes one think on what is actually written is it not.
Yur comments at times are such to the likes to being very vague, and you are not inclined to expand to make the reader aware of the reason of your comments. This can indeed cause frustration among your associates here to your meanings. At least in the guise of Flook, I go around the subject and through the subject in a deliberate manner, though not all time, thank goodness.
The Scarlet Pimpernel was made to look like an idiot when in France, yet, back in England he was an intelligent man of means (though that was in a book).

Flook you never said I had an ST, but I've seen many and driven a few. The new GT is far prettier, it makes the ST look shallow.
Oh Flook - kindly spend the Easter break in solid contemplation, not of your navel - or indeed anyone else's - but as to why after displaying such enthusiasm for it you did not proceed with the purchase of a new F800 GT. Please be serious for once!

LoS, having seen and ridden one, I have looked at the practicality of cost, I have looked at what I have. At this time I do not see a need to replace my ST. I agree with AZ-J it is indeed prettier, in other words better looking. I do not buy on looks. When I first saw the ST I liked the shape and style, unfortunately it was too high at the seat level. It was about eighteen months later a local villager had purchased one, he said it is the lower model and allowed me to sit on it. From that moment on I wanted one.
The bike I had at that time was a K1200RS, I had the seat lowered and was just able to hold it upright when I come to a halt, please note there is a long story on the K12 which I wont go into here. The battery was playing up on the K12, so I went into Northampton BMW to get a replacement. I happened to see a blue (my favorite colour) ST outside, noticed it had a seat that was curved down. Inside I asked one of the sales guy's about the ST, he showed me two, one with all the kit and another one that I saw. It was a factory lowered bike, so I sat on it and that was it. I could at last get both feet on the ground, it was the colour I love, it looked quirky, as you all know I like quirky, and I just had to have it.
So that was that way back in late 2008. I am a fair weather rider, I love the bike and, I like the replacement GT, if they done the GT in blue that I like that would have given me a real problem. I also have to take into account since I have been back into biking after at least 35 year lay off, this is my third bike in ten years, do I now want to go to the expense to go to the GT just for the sake of it............. No is the answer, am I enthusiastic, of course I am, but I have to look at the practicalities surrounding the issue. Every one of us is different, we all have our own views, ideas and lifestyles, I like to think, "viva la difference", other wise life would be boring would it not![]()

Flook, so if we had one painted a gorgeous sexy blue, would u still say no lol
Have to admit, I was looking again at the GT yesterday when I was back at the dealers.
(Poxy brake caliper had stuck on the riders right hand side. Thank god I only rode to the local petrol station and spent that mile trying to free it off. Managed it only after burning my fingers when I touched the front disks to see which side!! I know I'm an idiot lol. I have the imprint of the holes on my fingers!)
Anyhow, if my bike was older (currently 09 - 30k miles) I'd probably upgrade. But hate black or white and the orange.. hmm just a fad!
Bring out a gun metal gray or dark blue.. I'd be tempted.
That said I was drooling over the R1200S, BBB has changed to one and loves it. The lowered R1200RT was nice but looks like a plane from the front. Its HUGE
Not a commuter bike - R1200S, possibly... but its head down more. Though u can get a top box on it and side panniers lol
Might need to tap @bbb for a spin on his
Now, if they upgraded the engine to a F900GT and swapped the mirrors from the R1200S - game on!!!

Anyway, do pay attention 007 - I'm on a K12S not the R12S. The R looks interesting, no doubt a bit easier for town but I couldn't see it being as good with a pillion and m-way mile chomping.
I've only done 250miles on the K12 so far and most of that was back from the dealer in December! I'll do a write up once I've got a proper feel for it and put some decent mileage on it. The K13S I had as a loan bike was fantastic.
If you wanna tap me for a ride you'll have to come up to Flook's home patch on April 6th for our rideout. That's probably going to be my first decent ride on the beast - hope the weather warms up by then
I'm still yet to see a GT in the flesh but is it really better lookingI find that hard to believe. I'm having some work done to mine next week so I'll check it out and see if you guys are fibbing

I took my R1200S from Arizona to Eastern Tennessee, so don't say it isn't a mile chomper. That trip was 4K miles, round-trip.
I can two foot it when I stop.
But I'll admit both the red seat and black seat have been redone, although the red one was done after the TN trip.
The greatest farkle from a ride-ability standpoint was the BST wheels. Nothing changes a bike more.
I got a special deal, and saved hundreds. It was worth it!

Thanks, Flook but I have to ask, since when did NEED come into the ownership of a motorbike? OK, I can accept that in some Asian countries, f'rinstance (Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, et al) a small bike has become a major and important means of getting around for social, family, and work purposes, but I submit that in western countries - even unto Flookistan - the 'need' is about as great or as real as the 'need' for a jet-ski PWC (Personal Water Craft). Noisy, hideous things! No, here bikes and bike ownership and usage are about something else, I suggest.

Because LoS lives in Australia, he is upside down, hence his need goes to his brain. LoS does not seem to comprehend the need or any need. when you are a wealthy man like LoS, the word need does not appear in his vocabulary, a pencil does, as he may well suck on one as he has since child hood, hence he had to mention it. His words bring to mind an old school teacher who when did not know what to say about something would demand you write out one hundred times as your penance.
That brings to mind an occasion at school I was asked, err no I was told to write out two hundred times, "I must not talk in class"....... The next day I took in and gave to the teacher several pages of his request, and I asked her to check that I had actualy written that out. I also apploligised for any spelling mistakes I had made due to the amount of time it had taken me to carry out the task. She made me stay in at the break period and write, I must not be to fastidious, fifty times which I duly did, and she gave up on me in the end. No more lines at all from any teacher after that, until now, sow now I will reply GO BOIL AN EGG MATE.

You all NEED a bike 'cause you have nothing else to do, or need to show off. Some of us want, keep, and use a bike, along with our family and household, and other worldly possessions.
Keep an open mind, then your heart is open. All are welcome, even though we do not all agree, we all have our own standards, and as long as you all go with mine we will all get along, it will be boring with no differences though. OH sod it, as the song goes "go your own way", emotion privileges, what are they Ross
I view it simply, there is a large table which each one of us sits around. On this table are many items, to numerous to go into. Depending on where we sit, each one of us sees the same things but at different angles, hence these angle are our view points. So although we all sing from the same book, some sing on different pages to others.
Hold on a moment, I have come all over by emotions
Now that is being well emotional innit.................... OH, I will now have that GT oh ta indeed
