I've ordered a GT-Air. Although my Shoei Qwest is only about two years old, it has a couple of shortcomings that seems to have been addressed with the GT-Air.
The GT-Air comes with the pinlock insert, has a completely removable liner which makes it easier for bluetooth headset installation and the flip down sun visor saves having to wear sunnies.
I'll let you know how the airflow and noise level compares.

Like Dave, I have just bought a Neotec, to replace my old Shoei. Not as quiet as I hoped it would be, I'm thinking mainly because of the flipface componentry. Didn't know the Gt-Air was incoming, but should have guessed when I got a couple of hundred $ discount on the Neotec! The GT looks like a great best-case compromise, I'll look forward to your views on it, Dev. Did you get to try one on before you ordered it?

I'd be remiss if I didn't report my Scorpion 1000 has the same features, except the micro ratshitting latch, for $300 bucks and it has an air bladder you can inflate to make the helmet more snugger.
A really comfortable helmet for the money and I gots mine for a lot less than dealer cost.
Shoei makes really nice stuff but the costs are scary.

How has your GT-Air experience been so far?
I picked up my GT-Air (Journey) a week ago. Much quieter than my HJC helmet, but I found that i can easily fog up the visor with a decent exhale. The sun visor was my primary reason for looking for a new helmet, and that feature has already paid off several times. I'm going to insert the pinlock insert today and see if that knocks out the fogging.
The design of the helmet is taking me time to adjust to (and I mean that in a positive way.) It's a larger (overall) helmet than my HJC and sculpted differently. I need to be more precise with head and lean angles at highway speeds (to avoid buffeting.) Definitely my (rider) issue and not the helmet.
The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box, was how light it felt compared to the Qwest.
Initially I was disappointed with the noise level, until I discovered that you had to click the little clasp home on the visor to completely close it. The sun visor is great.
I've had occasional slight buffeting from the side, which I never had with the Qwest. The GT-Air is slightly longer, front to back, so that could have something to do with it.
I got mine from Germany, and it came with a micro ratchet strap system. I find this a little bulky and uncomfortable. I would have preferred D rings like on my Qwest.

Thanks for your update. I'm enjoying mine more and more (on longer rides and at different speeds.) Mine is local (U.S.) so it came with D Rings. The Pinlock works as described, too.
