OK, I will be really strait forward to my question.

Which one is the loudest exhaust pipe on the market for our bikes?

I want something loud and scare. Something that will feet with the stock pipes without modifications.

I do not care if it is going to be legal or not. My ST sounds like a mega scooter and the cars around me do not give much of attention…..old ladies too!!!

I am looking for something that will make craze my

Not the Power Tramp of course!!!

Just the power can.

Also advice if I will have any difference in torque or horsepower.

It will be better if we gather here all the info concerning the exhaust market for S/ST. I guess we can give info concerning the maker, model, sound, torque, horsepower and installation problems, dB killer removal and approximate cost.

F800ST (07), K&N, BoosterPlug & HyperPro progressive springs. I love it!!!

Two Brothers is definitely the loudest, and Remus with baffle removed in 2nd place

Do you know if Remus Powercone Satin needs any extra modification to get installed on a ST?

Run with no muffler for loudest noise.

I've scanned all the threads when I was looking for my can, and by far and wide, the jury has spoken and says the Two Brothers is the loudest.

I don't find my Remus Hex withOUT baffle, *that* loud. I wonder how much louder the 2 bros is?

Anybody mind putting up a soundtrack?

Stay positive.....or stay quiet.

You could get a Harley

Or more seriously, get some Motolights or PIAAs, a high-viz jacket, etc. I'm not in your particular situation, but I find that noise does not bring much in the way of "being seen." Most times it's someone pulling out in front of you - and your exhaust note is heading out the back - less obvious. If your getting cagers in other lanes cutting you off you may need to look at where you are riding (e.g. in their blind spot). I don't want to judge you or your riding skills, but just want to point out that if you are having an especially hard time that there may be other options. Besides, I and many others do not like loud pipes. All given IMHO

Re: sound and its ability to help "protect" us, it is by far the poorest of our senses, we also have to look and figure out where the sound is from for it to be useful. For protection I would follow ridefree's advice.

My blue flame is the first "loud" can I've ever had. Mainly due to cost.
But with the F800 the stock can is very heavy and spoils the looks and is just too subdued.
I've never felt a loud can really helped with making you more obvious in traffic.
However since having the Blue Flame I can confirm that in very slow riding, filtering it does help.
A blip of the throttle helps the cars know you are there and you intend to pass. It can help the cars part like moses is on the pillion seat.
Flame red F800s as of Nov 2006. Watch for me around North London.

I have an Akrapovic slip-on (carbon) with the dB killer removed. I've had many riders and drivers tell me it sounds fantastic (and I think so too). But there are still idiots on their phones or otherwise preoccupied with something other than driving that the extra sound doesn't reach. I don't know if it improves my safety, but I sure like it.
Take it out and play with it

I could not have said it better. I always try to be as easy to see as possible but the only way to stay alive these days is to ride as though you are invisible. Half of the cagers would not see you if you were on fire and throwing hand grenades.

Hi,
I have a Blueflame Carbon with the carbon end cone on my F800st and it has a louder, deeper note, it is featherlight compared to OE silencer and gives about 2 bhp more, living near to the Blueflame workshop they were more than happy to fit it Free.
I had a Blueflame Titanium oval fitted to a '98 Honda VFR 800i a while back and that made a big difference to the bike in reduced weight, extra deep burble and another 6 bhp on the dyno, (fitted free in their early years in business)
The F800st silencer has a removable baffle tube held in by a circlip, and if removed gives extra decibals, but I am well pleased with the baffle left in as a blip on the throttle wakes up car drivers

I ride a Grey F800ST

When cagers are oblivious to 20-ton fire engines with high-viz paint jobs, strobe lights, horns, sirens, and *really* loud engines, I fail to see how a loud muffler on a motorcycle is going to make them take notice.

One of the potential dangers I see to "solutions" like this is that the rider will become less careful, thinking that the louder noise will keep them safe.

I also suspect that the loudness of a motorcycle's exhaust tends to be inversely related to the size of certain male body parts.

I really like the deep muffled sound of the satin finish stock muffler. It's loud for a stock bike, let alone a BMW and it's plenty loud for me!

BTW, When I cross my legs, it's right ankle on top of left knee.

Ya, right. Someone who's hormonally challenged is going to buy an F800 in the first place.

By that logic you may as well not ride with lights on or HiVis. I mean they won;t see you anyway will they.
Anything that helps does just that it helps. Even if it's neutral it's worth a louder can as it drowns out the horrid engine rattle. And makes the bike sound like a bike and not a scooter.
Since fitting my Blueflame I've taken my advanced test and don't consider I take more risks because I think a loud exhaust makes me safer.
But for sue if I'm filtering and the gap between 2 cars in front is too small a blip of the throttle gives a nice sound that "encourages" the cages to part. The hooter would work as well (assuming you've upgraded the stock one otherwise the drivers will just piss themselves laughing) But generally in the UK using your hooter to warn driver your there, while being a perfectly legitimate use, is seen as aggressive and many cage driver will actually close gaps in those circumstances.

So for me a louder exhaust (not stupid loud but nice to listen to) makes my riding safer and easier and more enjoyable. They are all pluses for me.
