    Hey Joe,

Sunday was indeed a great day! I actually could not resist and went for a short ride, which was awesome. Roads were a bit wet in spots, but it was so far above freezing that there were no ice worries (this is my main concern).

As a rule, weekend rides will mostly be pretty short for me because I have the two young kids (they're great, but a handful - the only reason I made it out Sunday is that the 2-yr old went down for a solid nap). However with some planning I was thinking I'd probably be up for taking a weekday morning off if there's a particularly nice day to get a ride in.

I'll give you a shout if I see a ride looming. From now on I'll probably ride any time the roads are dry and it's reasonably above freezing.

    Hi Joe,

This is Rick (Proton) here - I live in CDN very close to NDG. After a number of years off of motorized bikes, I recently bought an F800GS at Monette Sports in Laval. Although I rode motorbikes for a while in my youth, I never really had proper training and am approaching it like a newbie.

I've learned a bunch from all the great threads you started, and also have young kids (I saw in your post about the scooter you have an 11-yr old) and so safety is a huge factor for me like I'm sensing it is for you.

Would be great to grab a beer/coffee some time, and potentially have a riding partner for whatever is left of this season or next. I've been posting more on ADVRider, but have been learning a lot on F800riders.org and hope to play a more active role (asking newbie questions that have to be asked). I'm in Belgium right now but back later in November.

Anyhow thanks for all the great threads you started, and would be great to get in touch.

    Best wishes,

    Rick
