I have a chance to buy a Garmin Zumo 660LM for $200. It includes the motorcycle cradle, a couple of different mounts to get the cradle attached to the handlebars, and the car windshield suction cup and mount.

The current owner is the second owner and has owned it for 5 years, and he has never updated the maps. He said that 99% of the time the old maps are accurate.

I contacted Garmin Chat and ask about them selling me a map update - and he commented that the data from the newer maps would likely exceed the capacity of the older 660LM.

Does anyone have any experience with keeping a 660 LM maps updated?

I am tempted to buy the unit for the mounts....however I can likely buy the mounts for about the same $200 asking price.

I already own an older Garmin Nuvi 500 that is a bit useless - as they won't provide support for the old machine anymore. It works - but you have to add an hour to the arrival time displayed.

I wouldn't touch it. The Garmin 660 was discontinued many years ago.

The Zumo XT is on sale for $399. If you are retired military, you can get a 10% discount from that price at Cycle Gear. Even the Garmin 396 is far and above better than the 660.
