I left my tender on the bike after a good long ride the day before for about a day and a half. Previously I was having issues with the tender indicating the battery was fully charged by displaying the amber light. I came home after work yesterday to see that the tail lights and headlamp were shining, and the tender was now on the green light. Really weird...oddly enough now the bike doesn't start. Does this sound like some strange battery issue or is there something else that comes to mind?

Your headlamp and tail lamp were on? I presume the ignition was off? It might be some weird Can-Bus related issue, but is certainly not normal. Hard to see it being a duff battery. Sorry not to be of more help!

Bike is 2007 F800S - I just purchased it pre-owned. Not sure how old the battery is. I had the shop install the pigtail to the battery to use with my battery tender. Keys were not in the ignition. Is my bike possessed?

Whenever I feel mine may be the victim of some sort of demonic (or Gremlin-ic) possession I wring it's neck on some open stretch of road until either they or I are too scared to carry on with it.
Usually sorts them out for a bit.

But seriously - what are the symptoms ? no cranking, slow cranking with occasional unsuccessful attempts at firing, turning over quickly with no signs of firing (do you smell fuel vapours at the tail pipe after cranking ?)
Warning messages on the dash ?
Battery may be an issue but that does depend on what else it's doing / not doing

The bike will not start and I hear only the ticking sound. No strange smells. No warning messages on the dash. The only issue I've had is the battery tender not showing a green light for fully charged and then when it did after a day and a half on the battery tender the tail light and headlamps being on.

Could still be the battery, all manner of odd behaviours crop up when they're on their way out
