    HI
New here, looking to swap my conventional high and low beam H7 headlights bulbs to LED bulbs.
Any issue with the depth of the bulb fitting in the headlght housing. Most of these that I see incorporate some type of cooling fins or fan at the back. Concerned about fitting these in the stock housing.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Thanks for looking
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
Most LED setups that are currently readily available will not match the brightness of a good halogen bulb.
Hella does have some modules, but they're not very appropriate for our use.

Additionally, there is the problem of correctly locating the point of light source for the reflector design to operate as intended.

Have you considered a projector HID system instead?

Thanks Andrew. I have considered an HID setup as well, and I am also familiar with the general want to have the right reflector. Having said that I may still take the cheap route and use the LED with the existing reflector. The brightness however may be a concern. Thanks for your input.

guys, also a newbie on here, but I have worked in Dearborn, Mi on headlight designs, and in Koln.de, for Ford. what we need is a more even spread of light from our H4 bulbs, not just brightness, ok ? I am just finishing up on my 2 x 5 3/4" H4s in the original housing, giving me 2x H4 hi and low beams. uploaded three pics, lets hope you can see them...

Yes, most LED H7 'bulbs' are to long to fit,
I recently put LEDs in my ST. I'm more than happy with them.
Now that I got them in, that is.
See https://f800riders.org/forum/showthr...ger-the-CANbus for the story and resolution.
