And to all the quads, and cattle dogs
The signs of sheep and bovines well heeded
The mob that moves along the way
    Providing food and sustenance
    That is, well, needed!

One horse? Richard even the whimpiest car in the US comes with 90 horses. Though the body style on your new car is special, I hope you didn't pay much!

Feed (fuel) often - water (a thorough clean) rarely. We're not in the same 'class' of bike owners who have OCD, sorry - I'm not!

Quote from Flook "........ So what has that to do with a near miss, possibly because it was near............... "

I did have a near miss this afternoon at a set of traffic lights. The lights turned green for us and the on-coming traffic. My fellow biker was in front and turned left (he indicated), I was close behind also indicating my intention of turning left wearing an orange hi-viz tabard and my new Caberg hi-viz green helmet with my lights on so I'm fairly hard to miss. An impatient car driver coming from the opposite direction turned right almost taking out the rear of the bike I was following and carved me up in the process pushing me close to the near-side gutter, luckily I was in first and disengaged the clutch. You know you can't just stop a bike without having at least one foot on the ground. There was only a brief second of panic before I was in control again. The guy in front probably was unaware or didn't care - tosser! I followed behind him for a short distance - all I thought was - tosser! Too nice a day to get knocked off the bike or get too angry.

Coming back from a ride out today with Frevrod, I was waiting on the right side lane to a round-a-bout to take the second left, a van was in the left lane, which the left lane is for going left only. I moved away and started to take position to go left when I noticed the van was beside me. I made gestures for him to get behind and to tell him he had made a mistake. I was paying more attention to him and trying to stay away from the side of the van, I had my left indicator on, and I made myself as large as possible with my new Hi Viz top on. He moved behind me, he must have thought I was an off duty policeman, as when he passed later on he crawled by and gave a soft toot as to appologise.

Guess what, I did not use my horn as I was too busy gesticulating with my left hand

I didn't have time to toot or gesticulate, I was just - exasperated. If he'd killed me - I would have come back to haunt him. No, really I just shrugged my shoulders and just thought he was an arrogant tosser.

Vehicle drivers are not aware of several things should a collision with a motorcyclist happen. It would damage there vehicle severely, the insurance claim would be high and it is then they realise afterwards so they say they were not at fault. Next is the motorcyclist could claim a lot of dosh in expenses and possibly take them to court for driving without due care and attention.

All that and more, much more, all because of impatience or they were out of position and wanted to sweep a biker out of the way. Should that happen to me I would would go after them in such a way they would regret having done that.

I don't like to raise my Blood Pressure any more than it is, so I TRY to keep calm about things.

Anyway Flook, you're alright. We all have thoughts and deeds that others not in the exact same position would find unacceptable. I could have got angry about it, this time I shrugged my shoulders, next time may be totally different.
