Here is a link to a promotional video of the "new" (2016?) RNineT Scrambler. BMW is apparently trying to keep up with Ducati. They raised the muffler, removed the paint from the fuel tank, shortened the front fender and not much else that I can see. BMW is getting good mileage out of the RNineT platform. I wonder what will be next?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-i-nfVXhJc

And, this fluff piece showing it with spoke wheels (much better IMHO). As you say, stripped down even more so than the R Nine T. Better give it some hand warmers though. We can't all ride in the desert of S. Cal.

I like the looks of that version better than the one in my original post. But I do note that the rider seemed to be riding quite carefully on the dirt roads, even if he was trying to spin the rear wheel for the camera on the loose material at times. The R1200GS-types would blow him into the weeds. I guess it is all about style, but the Ducati Scrambler sure beats the RNineT Scrambler in both price and bling.

After riding the Ducati Scrambler, my F800R felt like a super bike.

The Duc Scrambler is a toy when compared with the R9T, the new Triumph Bonneville range are a bit closer to the R9T with the 1200 cc motor.
