    ***SOLD***

Hi All! I'm selling my airbag vest. It is a bit too big for me, so I don't wear it as often as I should.

Selling for $350 including shipping within the US or $325 for local pickup. Willing to ship overseas splitting the actual shipping cost.

    Helite Turtle Airbag Vest
    Size L-LG (wide large)
    Black.

Barely used. Like new condition. Retails for $659. No marks. Never deployed. Complete with owner's manual.

    Helite Turtle Airbag Vest
The Helite Turtle Airbag Vest offers the highest level of rider safety. The lightweight vest protects riders' spine and vital organs due to its revolutionary design, inorporating a back protector on top of the air bag that disperses impact forces across the vest instead of concentrated in one spot. With its mechanical trigger and lead system, there are no delicate sensors to fail or batteries to replace. Simply connect the lead to your vest and bike and go. When the rider is ejected from the motorcycle in the event of a accident, the trigger is pulled and the vest inflates, creating a rigid neck brace as well as firm support to the spine, back, chest, ribs and kidneys

Still have this up for sale. Dropping the price to $350 including shipping. Selling to get into the Dainese system which I think I'd wear more often.

I'm about 5'6" @165lbs and normally wear a RevIt medium. This Helite vest is the large wide size and is almost too big for me which is another reason I'd like to sell it.

Ruffy, is the price in the 1st post the lowered price or lower yet?

I've got the Dainese system (review thread in the Apparel section). Alpinestars have released theirs recently too (similar price point)

Yup, I'm watching your thread with a lot of interest. I hadn't heard of the alpine star as vest (I knew they have jacket and suit systems). I know it offers less protection, but I feel like I'd actually wear a vest under my jacket more than the Helite I have.

In what way do you mean they offer less protection>?

According to the internet (and Revzilla review) the Helite system and ones like it offer better neck protection than the Dainese system. I haven't heard anything about the Alpine Star system.

It kinda stands to reason this is the case because the Helite and other systems that specifically have an inflatable piece to stabilize the head would offer more neck protection. But, I haven't seen any hard data on the differences in effectiveness.

But for me, it doesn't matter if I don't wear it :0!

Whilst I agree it doesn't have neck protection; neither does a standard back protector!

My concern with the neck protection is that it could also cause harm if the air bag were to inflate whilst you had your head turned.

Maybe? Again, hard to say with no data! I just want to get out of this system and into one that I'd be more likely to wear. I'm sure they are both better than just an armored jacket. So someone who doesn't mind wearing a vest on the outside of their jacket, grab this awesome deal so the two of use can ride safe!

The sales guy pulled the actuator on the jacket while I was wearing it. The neck thingy does come up and support your head and helmet but i don't think it's a neck breaker.
Remembering to attach the lanyard is the hard part. It won't work unless it's hooked up. That may be a reason some would prefer a self contained system.

I forgot to attach the lanyard a few times initially. Now, it's just habit. In fact, I feel naked if I don't have it attached.

Yah, Chris, I try to place the lanyard on the tank bag handle so it's in front of me as a reminder. It's a bugger when you take off and then remember and have to find a spot to pull over and click it up.

Sold! To a reasonable fellow from Facebook Marketplace.

On a related note I was just at the International Motorcycle show in DC. I had no less than 3 people say, "Oh man I want to get an 800" when BMW's came up in discussion. I pointed them to this forum.
