Riding a F800gs in Colorado- do most of my riding getting to the dirt roads I mostly see off the highway- 71 years old and don't do much more than fire roads anymore. However my other bike is a S1000R and I am worried I ride the 800 too aggressively on the highway. The GS has TKC80s should I consider something with more road contact patch?

I have been running Shinko 705 on my G650GS and my 650 Wee Strom. I could easily drag the pegs on the Wee Strom with the 705's and not worry about it. I tried an 805 and it handled better on that blocky tread.
Just mounted a MotoZ Tractionator which is a real gnarly block tread. I'll have to see how it feels

A guy on the DL650 site posted a pic of the Tractionator with 4K miles and it had more tread than the Chaparral tire. There is some hope for the average rider.

Lots of friends of mine swear by the Shinko 750 tires on there ADV bikes,. 1150GS, DR650, Tiger 800 & 1090KTM,,. These guys corner like sport bikes on the asphalt and I know the GS 1150 doesn't have any chicken strips what so ever,,. Every time you think your keeping up he takes it up another level,,!!
I just added the new Anakee Adventure on my 700GS and it seems a pretty good match, but expensive and not as much rubber as the 705 which is a far better value IMO..!!
