    Hi All,
Today I proudly took ownership of my 2013 F800GT. I'm not sure how I ended up with a grey F800GT although I'm very glad I have. My hobby is restoring 1970's Honda CB400Fs, 550, 750 etc. of which I have a few. I decided I wanted a modern bike for venturing further afield. I was set on a 2019 Honda CB650R but then the 2013 F800GT caught my eye and that was that. It has all the modern technology I was after, plus came with all the panniers etc.. Of course, we have snow on the ground here in the Frozen North, so frustratingly I can only look and polish it. Buying a motorbike in the Winter is always fun as you get great deals and fantastic service at dealers. I look forward to the Spring and hope to hook up with some fellow Albertan BMW owners. In the meantime, I'll keep reading my F800 Haynes manual.
    David

I can imagine this "new" GT will be really polished up. It may even get so shiny before Spring that everyone will need sunglasses to keep from being blinded!

Welcome from Puget Sound! I've been through Calgary once on my way back home from the ST-Owners National Rally in Spearfish, SD. Thunderstorms were passing through the area on the way north to your town. That night, every 15 minutes or so, there were tornado warnings. Luckily, all was well. I continued on through to Banff and then south to the Seattle area after that.

I decided that was too quick of a trip through the Canadian Rockies, so the next summer I spent a couple weeks going up from Banff to Jasper and riding in both areas. Beautiful country.

BTW, that bike is a "sport"-"touring" bike. You can ride with some of us who live a bit further away. In fact, it'd be fun to get a group together to do some riding in the Alberta/Montana area.

G'day from Australia, David. My first big bike was a Honda CB500/4. 1972 model I believe.

Did someone mention 1970's Honda motorcycles?

Congratulations David on your F800GT. There's something about that 2013 model... 😉
