    Hello fellow BMW owners.
    Looking for some help.
My bike (F800ST owned since November) came with a Givi top box but it didn’t lock so have taken the bracket off the pillion grab rail as the top box won’t be used.
However the grab rail itself has suffered from corrosion and flaking.
I can get this powder coated but need to know what size the four bolts holding it on are. By this I mean Allen key size and if it’s a special sort of Allen key?
Hopefully someone knows the answer, so thanks in advance.

You can see the bolts by just looking at it. They're all exposed. It's a T40 head.

Welcome to the "F"orum Older biker. As Cramer pointed out, it's a T40 torx head. Not an Allen.

Thank you both. It turns out it’s actually a t45. Sorted now and it’s at the powder coaters having a nice refurb.

Glad you figured it out, but I must say that I am surprised. I literally went into my garage and put several wrenches on the bolts on my 08 ST and can confirm that they definitely are T40 and not T45. Maybe yours is different.

Yep definitely a t45. A t40 on mine would result in a loose fit but would do if they weren’t too tight.
