    Hi everyone,

Recently new owner of an F800ST '08, 88000KMS.

I've made a bargain buying this wonderful bike with a good maintenance background all in a folder, many options and all original stuff (cases removed for the pictures).
I've bought it 800€, but I've been clearly stipulated that I'll have some expenses and work to enjoy truely and with safety my new bike : front disks are dead (I'll change the pads also for the low cast and low effort to change), and the "male tubes" of the front fork are loosing a bit of chrome showing some small stripes at the junction, with the right spi joint bleeding a bit of fork oil (a bit but still significantly though).

I've promised the seller to do the work before riding the bike, so it waits peacefuly in my garage.
For the story I'm 27 and the seller might approach his end 50s, we met at a red light and chat about his bike. Not really confident with selling it on second hand classified ads with the work to do on the bike, he was waiting the offer of a local "breaker" (not sure of translation) who eventually offered 800€. We had a good connection and he finally sold me the bike

So I'm happy to join your community, amazed that you have also national sections that might enhance the share of information and make it some kind of easier access for non english speaking people !

Here are some pictures, don't blame for the trousers (I've no excuse I know, even if it was a small trip btw seller's home and mine)

    Welcome PoloTLSE.
The bike looks nice in that colour.
I love riding in France. I was in the Pyrenees in July this year.

    Where have you been?
This year I crossed Dover to Calais - down to the Morvan, across to the Auvergne, down to Millau via the Gorge du Lot, across to Carcassonne, down to Bagneres de Biggore for a few days, back to the Auvergne and the Limousin before heading to Caen and crossing to Portsmouth.

A few highlights were the Valee du Lot, Andorra, Col de Pailheres, Col de Peyresourde, Col d'Aspin, Col du Tourmalet, Gorge de l'Aude. The whole trip was packed with highlights actually! I covered just over 3000 miles in two weeks. I love riding in France. A fantastic, well-maintained road system. The roads are rarely too busy anywhere.

On previous trips I have explored the Alps (including Switzerland and Italy) and the magnificent Cevennes.
I find I have to search hard for twisty roads in Northern France. The fun starts at Avallon and the Morvan which always seems to be the first objective on my trips.

Very nice! Good choice. You just miss Pyrénées orientales, with her coast road that you can extend down to Cadaquès (and further) in Catalonia! Well, all the south east of vallée de l'Aude. Next time!
