2017 battery struggling with lock down

So my 2017 F800GSA is sat in the shed during UK lockdown. Battery doesnt last a week idle. What to do buy a Optimate 4 with BMW din lead? or this https://www.tayna.co.uk/motorcycle-b...eoch/lfps-x14/
My thoughts were battery is probably on its way out and I like the idea of the weight loss high up on the bike. Lets see if a lithium last longer than 5 days idle on a bike Lithium has come down in price these days.

It should be fine. My standard battery on my ST easily lasts a couple of weeks in the garage without being started.

Lithium won't last longer as the draw from the bike doesn't change and the amount of energy in the one type isn't sufficiently different from the other type. But it does weigh 2kg less. I maxed out the size to fit the battery box. I figured since I had the space, why not use it? Once you've decided to go lithium, the incremental cost is marginal.

So my oem was at 11.9V not enough to start the engine. These 2017 F800GS have a large relay connecter with tubes wires left hand right on top of the battery clamp. The clamp wont lift away ( have removed the 2 screws) until you move the mentioned cabling atop. Not easy to see hoe this is done, utubing shows older bikes dont have as much stuff on the bracket so not the same as 2017. Anyway charged the oem in situ to 12.5 started ok have put it back together and will keep the lithium until I figure how to get the clamp off.

So i got a copy of the maintenance CD which documents the last of the F800 showing a line drawing where you disconnect 2 of the 3 electrical connectors ontop of the clamp and remove wiring from clamp. Hard to separate connectors looking for the detent latch, or the manual says loosen the connector but doesnt say how.

It is a bit of a struggle until you know how. Then, like a lot of things, it proves to be very easy.
There was something in a recent post about this that I can now not find that explained it much better than I can. Hopefully someone will be along here to explain soon.

So with the CD guidance I managed to change it. Unsecuring all the wires was hard without breaking anything. Battery and restraint with all the cable typical german over engineers. The oem Battery is heavy as a car battery and I have crash bars so the bike was top heavy. Lighter now but I need to lose a stone in weight my self.
