I'm looking at getting the new ZUMO XT this season, and would like to have it mounted above the dash.

I've seen a lot of old posts about a guy named Burak from Turkey who made a mount that looks perfect, but nothing new since 2016.

Anyone running anything that's still available to buy?

FYI. 2015 F800GS (not GSA), and I've running the Touratech Desierto 3 fairing so windscreen mount is not an option.

check options from RAM Mount & Touratech. They usually have solutions for this sort of thing.

Ya, I've seen those, but it puts it in front of the dash. I'd prefer to have it mounted to a bar above the dash personally.

RAM have options for that, you just need to look for the right clamp size (a u-bolt option may be best)

Ram mount has one that attached to the triple tree, not above the dash.

I don't know how helpful this is going to be, but it may give you some ideas. I have a Madstad windscreen, and I was able to fabricate a cross bar and attach a Ram Mount to it. For me it made a perfect mount setup for my Zumo.

Kind of the setup I’m looking for. Not sure if I’ll be able to Mount it to my Touratech fairing. Will have to take a look.

Where did you source the cross bar?

I made it. I have access to machine tools and welders. But what I made could have been made with a hack saw, a drill, file and appropriate taps. Materials: a half inch piece of aluminum bar stock and a small piece 1/4" aluninum plate large enough to fit the base of the RAM mount.
The bar just spans the windshild brackets.

What i meant is look for other clamps and solutions to build one to fit your needs. Not an off the shelf option.

I have the standard 800GS, 2013 model. I fitted a GSA windscreen mounting bar plus a Kappa Airstream / Givi Airflow (same thing) windscreen. I managed to get the mounting bar second hand (although a bit bent).Click image for larger version.

I remove the top part of the windscreen when I do dirt rides for a better view of the road when sitting. When standing it isn't an issue at all. Just strap it to the front of my top box. For tar rides and even non-twisty dirt sections visibility is perfect.

Thanks for posting, Im not clear from your image how the GPS is attached to the bar,,.
I'm interested in doing something similar and would like to mount off the support bar for my windshield,. There's about 3/8's of an inch clearance between the wind screen and the support bar bar located just above the gauges ,.
    Has anyone done this?
    see attached?

Was hoping to purchase a Zuma 396 and using the Ram mount handle bar clamp that comes with it similar to the image,,.

Please note, I'm a noob here, just signed up to answer this, so not allowed to post links. That sucks.

The guy is still around (I assume it's the same guy). I got my delivery last fall and it worked perfectly.
I ordered from him on Facebook, search for a page named f800gs.gpsholder.

I just got myself a Desierto F fairing and a new "GPS" (a Carpe Iter tablet) for my 2012 F800 GS, so it seems as we are in the same situation.

The only problem I had was that I ordered the GPS holder with a 22mm rod, to fit my previous Quad Lock iPhone setup. Most GPS mounts use a 12mm rod. Now I'm looking at finding a local machine shop that can slim it down for me.

You can see the mount together with what appears to be a Desierto F in the photos (around photo #7) on that Facebook page.

I attached two photos I took while installing. This is without the extension you can see in the Facebook page.
