Long term expat from Denmark. 20 years I’ve been thinking about motorbikes and finally got a licence.
Stumbled into a 2015 F800r and after checking some reviews and listening to advice, I pulled the trigger. What a machine!

Welcome, Circas. Congratulations on your new F800r. I am sure you will enjoy riding it. Although it you live in Dubai, I imagine that heat during the summer is going to be an issue for you. Time to also invest in one of those cooling vests. I have found that they work pretty good, at least until the water in them fully evaporates.

    Thx Richard
Yeah it has started to heat up already but I invested in a Knox urban pro vest which has been very good so far. Never heard of a cooling jacket, I shall look into that- in particular when the temperature hits 40+/ 100+.

Hi Ciscas Congrats on your purchased and welcome
Cooling vests are useless here in Canada but this might be of interest for you.

Welcome to the Fun site for all things F800.
The F stands for Fun, Fantastic and F8.
Take care there in Dubai, I went there many years back, Hot, it is. I remember in the pool it was lovely, came out and the air temp was lower than the pool temp, best way to cool down.

    Enjoy your new ride.

Thx guys. It is indeed a fun bike and I don’t understand why it never seems to appear in bike reviews and such- except the odd YouTube video.
Anyway it’s been a bit of a handful (for me, as a newb) in the beginning but I’m getting used to it.
The gear lever broke off a few days ago and getting a new one is a bit off a problem in Dubai- hopefully MotorWorks sales will come through. In the mean time I managed to drill a hole and put a bolt through to make a temporary lever’ish.

I have done the same thing in the past with a broken clutch lever.
