Triumph's TE-1 consultant's spin is in full spin mode this week. It is enough to make me dizzy. I hear the plea for another government grant to keep up the good work in their press releases. I have a suspicion that Triumph is not funding all of this research. :

Who knows? It is a technology demonstrator and not an actual production motorcycle. One of the several videos that have been posted on YouTube regarding the project mentioned that Triumph would like to introduce the bike to the market by the end of the year, but only if they can sell it as a price that their customers can afford and are willing to pay. My reaction to that comment is: Don't hold your breath until that happens.

My feeling is that if the bike sold for $30K like the H-D LiveWire it won't sell in any quantity to make mass production worthwhile. I think that anything greater than the low $20K USD would be a Bridge too Far. A much better price would be under $20K, but I am not sure if it can be manufactured for that price what with the cost of today's EV components.
