Yup since buying the bike new in 2006 I've just clicked 130,000 miles. Just done 1300 miles on a tour in Wales (UK) and 3 weeks commuting into London to teach (another 900+miles)
The bike rattles a bit more than it did at a year old but it runs so well a pure joy to ride still.

    That's pretty impressive!
You must be really comfortable with that bike! I can see you've been around here for a long time. Dealer or self-serviced?

That is very impressive. I got close to 90,000 on mine before replacing with another with lower mileage. Bike was still going strong but definitely feeling the miles. My current one just hit 20k. Also a London commuter and sport-tourer - made Scotland, Wales and Cornwall this year. Ever go to the Ace?

Definately self serviced. A good portion of the Hall of Wisdom is due to Pat's efforts.
    Concrete remains undefeated.

Cool to hear. I haven't been on the forum in a while and was wondering if you still had your bike. I bought an FZ09 in 2017 expecting to replace the F800 and quickly found it doesn't have the character of the old girl so been riding the BMW mostly. at 29,000 miles, yes it rattles and doesn't have near the power of the FZ but very much prefer. A few days ago the stator went out again so will be replacing. Still keeping her probably til I pass! Good you're still out there!

Living in the most heavily locked-down city in the world has some peculiar benefits. I have had very little bike fuel and servicing expenses over the last 18 months - just 54 Km of riding. (We have to be able to demonstrate dire circumstances to be allowed outside 5 Km radius from home.)
My bike is very clean and shiny....

I just worked out that, with depreciation, insurance, registration etc., over that period considered - that's about A$70 a kilometre. I can hire a stretch limo, driver and blonde bartender for that trip cheaper....

I have a friend in Melbourne who's just done a lot of work on his Africa Twin during the lockdown, the vibe I'm getting via his emails is that he's getting a bit stir crazy now.

130,000 miles? Wow, that is a lot of good times on a bike! Says something about the Rotax engines, too.
