Is it possible to change the DATE on the GT’s clock using the bike’s buttons only?

I ask because whilst working on the bike, I briefly disconnected the battery. On reconnecting and switching on the ignition, the display briefly showed the date of the next service which normally happens a month before it’s due but in this case, service isn’t due for another 6 months. I got my dealer to connect the bike to the diagnostic computer which showed that the bike thought the date was 1/1/2100, so my bike thinks I’ve missed the service by 82 years! After resetting to today’s date, all was well but I wondered if there was a way to do it without the computer.

Thanks.

it's possible, but you need to know how to access to the advance setting menu, which appears as a sequence of numbers. I'm sorry but I cannot help you to do it. there was an old thread somewhere that explained how to do (try a search in the "hall of wisdom"). but I remember that it's not a simple thing to do.

Hi,
Thanks all. I did eventually find the post mentioned above on page 41 of 41 of the Hall of Wisdom. That post is quite old (2007) and refers to the F800 ST. Trying the same manoeuvre (hold down the 2 buttons then switch on the ignition) doesn’t work on the GT. The bike switches on as normal. If the bike does have an advanced settings menu, this isn’t the way to access it.
